Good Deed Celebration (and Reward)

Doing a daily good deed during the next two months will help mark Scouting's centennial with thousands of good deeds, and could bring one Nipissing Area youth member a good reward.

All area youth members -- Beavers, Cubs and Scouts -- are eligible to win a refurbished Pentium 4 computer, with monitor and keyboard, donated by PRS Computers, by doing 1o good deeds and completing the Good Deed form.

Download the Good Deed form here -- Word or PDF.

Youth must be registered with a Nipissing Area Scouts Canada group (or Girl Guide Group), and complete the form. All Good Deeds must be initialed by a parent or guardian. Only one form may be completed per youth participant. All forms must be handed in to the youth's section (Beaver, Cub or Scout) leader who will drop them off at Trinity United Church, 111 McIntyre St. E., North Bay, ON. Attn. John Marcil, no later than Nov. 30, 2007.

The draw will take place Dec. 4, 7 p.m. at Trinity United.

Lets all celebrate together doing good deeds as 2007 marks 100 years of scouting, and maybe win a computer.

* West Ferris Group Commissioner Brian Trivett is now operating the area badge office until the stock can be sold off, after which only the Nipissing badge will be available from him. Proceeds from sales will go toward supporting Camp Wirribara. Email Scouter Brian with your orders.

* Scouts Canada Field Executive Allan Haley will be in North Bay Friday, Oct. 26 to collect registration forms and assist group registrars, if necessary.

* Allan is also looking for the loan of a warehouse in North Bay or Sudbury for a day or two on Nov. 21 to receive and sort about 16 pallets of Scout Popcorn for Northeastern Ontario. If we can find a location in North Bay, we should get our popcorn a little quicker this year.

* Motor Madness 2007 DVDs are still available from Scout Ken Sitter for $10. Call or email him for a copy. All proceeds go to Motor Madness 2008.
